Our own little war..

There’s going to be a war in my office, specifically on the floor I work on, and it’s going to be over the coffee maker. I do not understand how grown adults can think it’s ok to spill coffee down the counter and into little puddles on the floor and walk away from it. (That’s what I walked in on this morning, coffee on the floor and no one around..) Then there’s the people who turn off the coffee but don’t bother to rinse the pot, or the people who take all but the very last drop of coffee and put it back on the burner, (Yeah that makes quite the mess!) or leave the burner on overnight, etc.

It’s bad enough that I have to babysit some people when it comes to using their computers, isn’t it?

OK, I’m all vented now. I feel much better. *L*

This post over at the Friends in Tech forum brought back a lot of memories, especially Douglas’ response, because he really gives some insight into the real meaning of those kinds of comments from users. We took lots of pictures, but there’s no wi-fi available from our hotel, only dial-up so uploading pics will probably wait until we get home. After all of the events of last week, it feels good to be away. Now…

  • Liberum

Seen mentioned in this post by Chris Haaker, a free helpdesk tracking system called Liberum. Looks like it might be pretty interesting. Don’t know that I would use it here, there’s one tech, me, and people are pretty much used to just emailing me or stopping by my office. Asking them to move to filling…

  • Internet Explorer to stomp pop-ups

Saw this article over on News.com about how the next Service Pack ofWindows XP is going to include a pop-up blocker ability built-in to Internet Explorer. Interesting for two reasons. One, it’s about time! Two, if even IE comes with a pop-up blocker by default, that form of web advertising is dead, offically, although since…
