Finnegan’s Travel Blog

I started using the blog feature on Yahoo! 360. It’s probably over-simplified for some of the tech heads who read this blog, and I certainly wouldn’t want it to be my main blog, since so much of it is unconfigurable, but it is easy to use, uploading photos with your post is a breeze, and it makes for an easy way to have some fun with my Gnomad and share that with you all. I’ve only put up the first few posts, I have a bunch more lined up that I’ll be adding over the next few days, and you can subscribe to the RSS feed if you want to keep up with the silliness!

Update: Something I hadn’t really thought about before, but apparently, you have to be a member of Yahoo! 360 to see any other pages in Yahoo! 360, so the link probably won’t work for most of you. I’m not really happy about that. Hopefully, when it comes out of beta you’ll be able to actually share content without it being locked behind a Yahoo! only service. In the meantime, if you want an invite, let me know. Nevermind, apparently I was doing something wrong with the link. Everyone can see the blog. It’s been that kind of day… 🙂

Later: It does, however, bug me that you have to be a Yahoo! 360 member to leave comments on any of their blogs. Not good enough. Let’s hope they change that.

Per Dianna’s request, in the comments, here are my first impressions of IntraVnews: First off, I’m running it with Outlook 2003, on an older type laptop running Windows 2000, with only 128MB of RAM, so YMMV. But, I’ve found that with about 80 channels subscribed, it doesn’t run as slow as I was afraid it…

“Still, we should wait before writing any eulogies. Most learning professionals doubt traditional classroom learning will ever go extinct. After all, it makes up more training hours available than any other delivery method. Instead, they envision it incorporating technology to achieve a blended format that takes advantage of both tools’ strengths. According to ATD’s research…

I was listening to the latest In The Trenches earlier today, and found myself nodding my head in agreement when Kevin was talking about knowing someone’s being let go and having to disable accounts as it’s happening. • Get the Flock out

I downloaded Flock, the “Social Browser”, last night and have been playing with it a bit to see how it works. In terms of being a “social” browser, it definitely is that, with the blogging, photo uploading, RSS feeds and other social network plug-ins incorporated directly in to the browser. On the other hand, I haven’t…

Something struck me yesterday as we were strolling through the Columbus Museum of Art. We had gone specifically to see the American Impressionsists exhibit, but as we wandered around the rest of the musuem I was struck by one wall that had a “Photos of the City” display. These Photo League works ranged back to…
