MS Office Beta Notes

This is a side-blog where I intend to keep all of my notes from Beta testing new versions of Office. This will keep them all in one place for future reference. I started this with Office 2003, and am bringing it back for the 2007 version. This is not an official Microsoft site, this is just the ramblings of one IT guy.

OneNote team blog

Chris_Pratley's WebLog has just started. Chris works with the OneNote team at Microsoft and says he's going to be blogging mostly about OneNote. Should make for interesting reading!

KC to the rescue

I've blogged before about Tim Marman's suggestion that users be able to rename the flags in Outlook to something more usefual than Red, Blue, etc. Now it turns out that KC Lemson has provided a sort of work-around that will do just that. I'll have to see how well that works sometime this weekend!

Word to HTML

Brian has an informative entry about why all those extra tags get carried along when you try to save a Word doc as HTML, and a pointer to a quick fix for it!

Office 2003 SR1

Some pretty interesting early information about Service Release 1 for Office 2003 has been trickling out. It'll be interesting to see what all gets included in this when it gets released in the Spring.

Word 2003 Update

Under certain circumstances Word 2003 can become unresponsive when the user saves a file or when Word automatically saves an AutoRecover file. This update corrects that potential error.
