MS Office Beta Notes

This is a side-blog where I intend to keep all of my notes from Beta testing new versions of Office. This will keep them all in one place for future reference. I started this with Office 2003, and am bringing it back for the 2007 version. This is not an official Microsoft site, this is just the ramblings of one IT guy.

InfoPath viewer

Chris Kunicki points us to a commercial software company that's developing a veiwer for InfoPath forms. I agree with Chris, I don't understand why MS didn't come out with a veiwer instead of trying to get everyone to have the full-blown InfoPath running. I mean where I work, for example, some InfoPath forms might be helpful, but there's maybe 2, more likely 1, person who's ever going to want to develop forms, and there's no way I could cost-justify buying 25 copies of Office Pro just to get InfoPath onto everyone's system when other version of Office might suit our limited needs better. A cheaper InfoPath veiwer that would let all the users at least use the forms that I develop would open up more of a market for Infopath. At least it seems that way to me.
