You may, or may not, have noticed that I haven’t really said anything about any interesting work projects lately. In fact, I’ve barely talked about my job at all.
Fact of the matter is, I do work for a political/lobbying organization and this is election season! Granted, we’re involved in state-level politics and not the presidential election, but it’s still an insanely busy time around here. Most of my time is taken up simply making sure everyone has the right tools (equipment and/or information) to do what they need to do. It doesn’t really make for great blogging, especially given my desire to not name names when it comes to where I work.
That being said, we’re in for many changes, I think, right after the election. We’ve got two people leaving, some jobs transitioning, requiring some re-training of end-users for different functions, and some equipment upgrades on the horizon. Only trouble is, we have to get through the election first. I was telling Angela just last night that the concept that there are things on our schedule for “after the election” is completely unfathomable to me. Between work, reading the news, seeing all the political ads on TV, billboards, yard signs, etc. I find it hard to believe that there will ever be a time when this is done!
