Internet Explorer to stomp pop-ups

Saw this article over on News.com about how the next Service Pack ofWindows XP is going to include a pop-up blocker ability built-in to Internet Explorer. Interesting for two reasons. One, it’s about time! Two, if even IE comes with a pop-up blocker by default, that form of web advertising is dead, offically, although since it’s being released as part of an XP service pack, it won’t be available to everyone using IE, I assume. Will they make it available to non-XP users? Or are they going to have to go the third-party route and either install Mozilla/Firebird or the Google Toolbar to block their popups?
