List of lists

If you read along here you know that I’m not one to recommend a lot of online resources that cost money. Let’s face it, with the IT budget I’m given at work, and the salary I make from that job, I need all the free resources I can get! But you owe it to yourself to go ahead and get the Plus Edition of the Langa Letter. If you had, then, like me, you could have spent part of last night being overwhelmed by this overwhelming list of bookmarks. I could spend days exploring that site!

And, as you can see on this page about the newsletter, part of the profits of the Plus edition go to very worthy causes. What more could you want?

OK, that’s enough of the commercial. 🙂

According to the last edition of the LangaList, Agnitum has a free firewall out, and a release candidate for the Pro version of Outpost . A quick look at it makes it seem pretty cool, maybe an alternative to Zone Alarm. But it looks like the pay version will be way better than the free…

I did get to try and install StatCounteX yesterday, and then this morning found the version that adds password protection to the stats, which I was rather disappointed wasn’t there to begin with. Turns out it was a user uploaded version. There wasn’t much in the way of documentation, I guess that’s a hazard of…

  • Interruptions..

Not making the progress I want to so far. Had a few interruptions, and I’m expecting a few more, unfortunately. One of those “Mike can you tell us ‘XYZ’ from this data even though we never bothered to track the data that would actually tell you “XYZ” from the start of the project and have…

  • Latest SpywareInfo

I’ve talked about the Spyware Weekly Newsletter before, but this week, they’ve really outdone themselves. Last night’s issue has stories on iDownload, the rumored Firefox spyware, weird happenings with AdAware and WhenU, and how websites designed for children are the most likely to intsall spyware! All of this in one issue. If you’re not subscribed,…
