You Might Be A Social Network Nerd

5269295051_31a102e6ae_m_facebookActual comment I made, in real life, over the weekend:

“They know they can just make their own Facebook Page, right? I mean it’s easy, it’s free, heck I have four of them.”

Sadly, this would make sense if I were in marketing, or running social media for a brand other than myself, but that is not the case. Apparently, I have a lot of interests, and use social media to share all of them! Or I’m just tremendously narcissistic. The jury may be out on that one.

I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing, right? Right? 😉

  • Cloudflare Enters the AI Data-scraping Fray

As I read the post, I found it most interesting that so many customers have made it clear to Cloudflare that they have no interest in letting AI tools use their website content to train large language models. I hadn’t given it much thought, but I also don’t run ads or use my blogs as a side hustle like many others do. It’s easy for me to be uncaring about whether some information I share is being used to respond to someone’s AI prompts without linking to the site. I might feel differently if I depended on traffic to make this endeavor profitable.

    Feed No More…

I’ve retired the ILTA tracking feed. It’s been over a week, so I’m assuming that we’ve pretty much got what we needed from it, and now it’s starting to just be pretty empty. Hope it was of some use to all of you who subscribed to it. Until next year, when I hope to try…

  • Long Weekend

It’s been an enjoyable, if not productive, weekend. With everything going on at work, being busy learning all sorts of new things, putting in some weekend work, etc., it was nice to really just spend some time with the wife, who’s had her own issues with working a lot of the time lately, my family…

  • Remembering

I was trying to think of the best way to mark the 5 year anniversary of 9/11 today when I realized that my feelings about this particular day, and the need to remember the events of 5 years ago, haven’t changed since I posted about being at Ground Zero back in June. I took a brief moment…
