Hardware afterall

Turns out the laptop is a hardware issue afterall, only not with the mouse or the touchpad, seems to be a motherboard issue. Compaq is picking it up this afternoon and taking it in to be fixed under warranty. Thank God for warranties, I didn’t really want to replace the motherboard myself, too many other things to do. 🙂

Now I’ve got to get files copied over to the spare laptop for that person to use for about a week, I’m sure he’ll be thrilled about that!

By the way, I couldn’t help but notice all of the MSKB articles and other support sites who had the following instructions for what to do when your mouse isn’t working. “Double Click the Mouse icon in the Control Panel”. Think about that for a minute…:)

Pardon the interruption in normal blogging patterns. I’ve been spending an inordinate amount of time this afternoon losing an argument with a tape drive. There’s a new channel9 video covering some of the new security features and what the user experience is going to be like. By the way, I agree with what Scott says about it. It is going to be harder for casual end users, because they are going to be expected to think. I have been…
