Bad, dirty software…

New Kazaa stealing referral links:

“The newest version of Kazaa contains code which will rewrite URLs to sites like Amazon.com which allows affiliates to earn commission from sales they refer to Amazon. If you were to have this software installed and click through one of Lockergnome’s book links to Amazon, Kazaa would end up getting credit for any sales that may have resulted from your visit to the site.”

Somehow this doesn’t surprise me at all about Kazaa, it’s already spying on you, and who knows what else, why shouldn’t it steal commisions from small site owners too? I hope anyone trying to help out this site by using the Amazon links is smart enough to not be fooled into giving the $$ to Kazaa instead. I think I’d be pretty peeved if that happened. I think this post pretty much sums out why using on-line apllications makes me nervous, even though I do use quite a few, but I take careful steps to make sure I have backups of everything that’s on-line and don’t share anything with an on-line application that I wouldn’t want you all to know about….

Yes it’s 3:30PM and I’m still working on the same problem that was carried over from yesterday. It’s taken me almost this long just to convince them that it wasn’t the FTP client I was using that was causing the problem. I’ve only been using this FTP client for years with no problems up until…

I’m not sure what’s in store for the weekend just yet, so I don’t know if I’ll be keeping up with technology or not! Tomorrow (Feb 23rd) is Angela’s 25th birthday, so the weekend’s plans are entirely up to her, what ever she wants! I’ve been thinking long and hard about what to write in…

nf0 asks an interesting question in the forums. “What’s your favorite source for finding Windows Update news?”. Personally I don’t like the Windows Update function at all. I try to stay alert to online media sources, the Langa Letter, Lockergnome or even winguides.com for security updates. Let’s face it, most online sources love to tell…

Angela’s got some pictures up from our foray last weekend here. I have a bunch of pics that I took from there but I’m looking to create a giant “around Columbus” album from these, pics from the zoo, pics of downtown, and a few other random images that I’ve taken in the past year or…
