Wow..

ByMike McBride Reading Time: 1 minute

I don’t write about sports on here much, because there are plenty of places to get into pseudo-religious arguments about sports online, but wow what a game and I can’t believe that Ohio State is going to the Fiesta Bowl! Of course, with the win, I’m just as glad that we don’t have to drive anywhere tonight. Things have a habit of getting a little crazy around campus when we beat Michigan any year, this year I imagine it’s going to be outrageous! I’m sure that the game will be about the only topic of conversation around Columbus for the next couple of days. I know some people who have only been able to talk about this game since the end of the Illinois game last week. *L*

I think some people take it a little far, but I’m still glad they won!

This is just a note to those of you who may wander over here from the Child Abuse site. There’s a problem with the MySQL backend right now that prevents me from posting anything new, and you from leaving comments. Some interesting points raised by this article about the legalities of wireless access. I think the ending is probably right on: But ultimately if we want to move to ubiquitous wireless computing, where you can use the WiFi protocols for cheap, mobile VOIP communications, or have near universal wireless Internet access, we are going to…

Interesting observation about using Help by Jensen Harris today: One of the most interesting epiphanies I’ve had over the last few years seems on the surface like a paradox: “help” in Office is mostly used by experts and enthusiasts. How can this be? I think my biased assumption was that experts know how to use…

Yeah I’ve only got these 3 days to get through before I head off to Gnomedex Thursday morning. I can tell you, mentally, I’m already gone. *L* Not that I won’t do my job well and make sure all of my loose ends are tied up before I head out for what will be 12…

Here’s the cool thing about Angela getting a Mac. She’s paying for the machine, and I’m getting the opportunity to add to my own tech knowledge by having access to a Mac for next to nothing. I’ve added the Apple Core to my list of Lockergnome subscriptions and added a copy of Troubleshooting, Maintaining, and…

  • Major work day

ByMike McBride Reading Time: 1 minute

Today’s the day we invoice a good 1/3 of our all of our members. I’m going to be quite tied up with running and printing our billing reports this morning. It should make the day fly because I’m busy, but it’s not necessarily the most mentally challenging work ever. There’s just a lot of it!…
