Let the learning begin!

I got an itch to do something tonight, so I created a nice llitte 2GB partition on my old Win 98 machine and installed Red Hat 7.1. I know it’s not the latest version but it’s the one I’ve had laying around for a long time, meaning to get it installed. The installation was fairly easy, mostly because the box is a generic white-box PC, so I could just choose generic drivers and get it working. I booted into Gnome and immediately thought, “wow there’s going to be quite a lot to learn before this becomes as comfortable as Windows.”

But it’s a start, and, more importantly, it’s something new to learn. That’s always fun!

I suppose the first thing to do is find necessary OS updates.

Kent and Eric have answered the call from last week and sent me links to their OPML files. I’ve imported them to NewsDesk, pruning as I did it to avoid duplication or just feeds that don’t apply to me. (By the way, nice feature of NewsDesk to let you add channels by loading an OPML…
