Interesting questions come to my mind as I read an email from a coworker about adding some stuff to email signatures as a way to promote an upcoming event. How many people actually read past the name field of a sig file? If you do, at what point does it become too long and you stop reading? If you’re using an email sig to promote an event does it matter that the event info starts on line 10 of your signature, after way too much contact information?
Personally I’ve always thought anything more then 4 lines was too much, but that’s me. My work signature is 4 lines long; name, title, company, email address. I think you could lose title or email address for a telephone number if you wanted to and that’s good enough. What do you think?
