Important PDA lesson for today

I just now learned this one and laughed at myself for it:

When you copy an Excel spreadsheet so that you can keep a copy of it on your PDA, (It’s an employee contact information sheet) make sure that the frozen panes are unfrozen. In this case the name fields were frozen so that you could see the names as you scrolled through the other info. The problem was that the name fields were larger than the screen of my Pocket PC, so as I scrolled over, they continued to just take up the entire viewable area. *L*

  • They’re at it again…

Seems the record companies are at it again, suing ISP’s for providing access to a Chinese website. This is a somewhat alarming case because of the trend it would start. Last night I listened to the latest In the Trenches podcast. Kevin and his guest, Chuck Tomasi were discussing a number of issues that I feel strongly about, and have been reminded of recently in my own workplace. They were talking about the image you, as an IT person, project to the people you support…

    Blasphemy

Turns out the speed didn’t stay quite that high so the download will finish sometime this evening. No biggie, since the only CD-R’s I have in the office are 650MB anyway. I would have had to wait until I go home and grab a 700MB and burned tomorrow if it had finished by 5PM. 🙂…
