Windows Live Writer Update

I saw a couple of days ago that there were some plugins available, linked from the Live Writer site. One of them was a tagging plugin, exactly what I thought this sucker was missing. I grabbed that and the Flickr plugin and then opened up the Writer, only to discover that none of them worked. I did some research and came up with a theory. I needed the .Net Framework version 2, I only had the beta of version 2. So I grabbed that an ran the installer. It errored out on me, demanding that I uninstall the beta version first. Ok, not entirely unexpected, so I start that uninstall, only to be told that I can’t uninstall that, I have software that depends on it.

Quite a conundrum, isn’t it? Luckily, tonight I came across the dotnetfx_cleanup_tool on this post by Aaron Stebner, which seems to have allowed me to get the uninstall done, so that I could load the release 2.0 version and suddenly, those plugins seem to be working. In fact, I’m writing this in the tool right now, and including tags, so we’ll see how it goes!

Microsoft has released details on the Office 2003 lineup. Shannon chided me the other day in my own comments when I talked about the tech toys I brought on vacation, suggesting that I was missing the point of a vacation! Not at all Shannon. One, as you can tell, I’m not feeling the need to reply in a timely manner at all. 🙂 Two,…

I’ve got the Boomtown Rats song “I don’t like Mondays” running through my head this morning. (Anybody else even remember that song?) Anyway, I’ve never really been a big fan of Monday mornings to begin with, but today just seems to really be a drag. I’m not feeling particularly motivated for anything, I need some…

    Orlando!

We made it back Tuesday night. We enjoyed our stay in Orlando, spent some time at Sea World, Epcot and the Kennedy Space Center, met up with Kevin and Merrin Donahue for some delish Cuban food, took a whole lot of pictures, got rained on pretty heavily, and generally enjoyed some time away from…
