Interesting stuff

Apparently I’m not the only one who thinks Office 11 only being available to Windows 2000 and XP isn’t a big deal.

Kevin has an interesting post about how the IT department is always an after thought. I’m sure we could all tell some stories about that!

Pocket PC Thoughts has a bunch of stuff about the new iPaqs and an interesting post about Office documents being handled better by Palm devices than PocketPC. Can you tell I’m really giving this site a ton of attention in my bid to decide on what PDA to get for Xmas? 🙂

On the work front, not too much going on at the moment. I’ve got some database maintenance stuff to do, to get ready for this month’s billing next week. As always I’ve got a bunch of little projects that people are waiting on, so I’d better try and get some of those knocked out!

  • Consumer Reports

Related to the last post, I found a copy of the latest issue of Consumer Reports in the office and took a peek at their ratings. They rate a Gateway number 1, Toshiba 2nd, IBM 3rd and a Dell 4th, with the Dell being the “best buy” because it’s 400-600 dollars cheaper than the others….

  • Archiving

Can I ask a question to those of you who work in IT? I need some honest opinions here. I’m thinking about archiving some stuff off our file server onto CD because I don’t, in all honesty, think we need it at all, but some people are reluctant to delete anything “just in case I…

  • Drag…

Don’t you just hate Mondays that drag on forever? Those days when you don’t really have anything to do so the day just drags and drags. How about days where you do have a bunch of work to do and yet, inexplicably, the day drags anyway! I just looked up from a bunch of reports…
