It’s all too much

I haven’t really taken a good look at the Lockergnome Forums in about a week, and with a spare 15 minutes today I decided to pop in and browse around and see what the topics are in Gnomie land. Then the entirety of the problem I have with them hit me. It’s too freakin’ big! How can you possibly be expected to keep up when there are that many posts and subjects going on at the same time? They’ve been open for less than two weeks and they’re closing in on 5,000 posts. Who has time to read all of that? Who has time to wade through it and see if any is of interest to you? Sorry, I don’t have the time to be a very active participant over there, I have my own life to lead!

Yes it’s true, I hardly touched my computers all weekend long. By the way, as part of doing these staff interviews and research into ethics policies, I’m loving having access to a copy of OneNote to organize all of my notes and various other scraps of information. My only wish is that the other members of the team had OneNote as well so we could take…

  • Tip of the Week

This is actually the topic of my weekly email to the staff at work, something interesting that I discovered yesterday. One of my users was trying to send a mail list to one of our vendors. She had it saved as an Excel file with over 4000 records. The file was over 2MB in size….

  • Am I missing something?

I was reviewing some exam questions for the A+ exam over my lunch today, using the practice tests included with Mike Meyers’ A+ Certification Passport. It’s a decent book and the practice tests seem decent, but one of the questions had to do with someone who’s new email client could get incoming email but couldn’t…
