More good stuff

Reading Ben Hammersley led me to the just released NewsMonster which is yet another news aggregator! I might have to give this one a try. It works with Mozilla and uses Java, so it will work in any OS, and it claims to render most major news sites, even if they don’t have an RSS feed. It also caches full articles for offline reading. We might have to give that a try on the laptop to see how well it works.

Picked up from Dave, is Microsoft getting into the Blog-tool business? Anyone know more about this “Community Starter Kit”?

    FUD, but not entirely

Joe Wilcox does a good job of finding the FUD in Microsoft’s 10 reasons not to use Google Apps. I’d have to agree with him that Microsoft’s reasons are pretty dumb. One thing that does jump out at me though, is number 7: Enterprise companies have to constantly think about government regulations and standards?while Google…

  • Spyware Info

Not that the newsletter isn’t always useful, but I just read the latest Spyware Info and I highly recommend it. It’s got a little bit of everything, including bits about RFID tags, fake spyware tools, SBC’s appalling behavior in California, and a good argument for privacy rights in general. Good stuff.. Update: There’s been an…

  • Wow!

Well talk about an Easter surprise, I logged in this morning to find an email from Andrew, one of the developers for Newzcrawler. Seems he read my little write up and wanted me to send him some examples of the problem I am having with permalinks so that he could look into providing a fix….

  • Doc does it again!

Since he explains and links to things about the Hollings bill, and the internet radio fees better than I ever will, go over to Doc Searls’ site and get all the latest information about these horrible laws! He does a wonderful job of keeping us all informed about this stuff on a regular basis, but…

  • Back at it..

Had a nice weekend visiting with Angela’s family, and, as usual, ate too much food. 🙂 But now, as much as I hate to say, it’s Monday and I’m back at work again. Seems like I have a bunch of data that came in through the website that I’ll need to wade through and make…

  • More tools

Morten passed along this link, which is a place for you to validate your robots.txt file. He mentioned it to me because the robots.txt file I just put up on Monday had a typo in it. How embarrassing, but also how cool that it took less than 48 hours for someone to give me a…
