Much to the chagrin of my geeky side, yesterday while trying to figure out how to remotely check messages on our new answering machine, I accidentally erased the greeting instead of the message and had to record a new one. I recorded a new one, but in the course of telling Angela about this little mishap, she suggested that maybe I should “RTFM”.

I think this post pretty much sums out why using on-line apllications makes me nervous, even though I do use quite a few, but I take careful steps to make sure I have backups of everything that’s on-line and don’t share anything with an on-line application that I wouldn’t want you all to know about….
So the government is pushing smart cards as a way to protect against terrorism, right? Well they should read this story, Smart-card security needs an upgrade. -seems those little wonders are easily hacked into. How nice would it be to have someone steal your smart card ID and have easy access to your identity? Microsoft…
Back home tonight, unloading pics from various sources, CF and SD cards, pics that had already been transferred to the laptop, etc. I took a lot more film than usual for this trip, mostly because I had a disposable water-proof Kodak that I was using while in the ocean. We’ll see how those turn out…
