On the road again..

Got the AV definitons rolled back on my machine and the AV working again. The Live Update reports no new updates are available, which makes me think that either the update file that I grabbed yesterday is bad, or is incompatible with our older version of the software. Oh well, it’s probably about time we updated that anyway, I’ve only been saying that since 2001!

With all that taken care of, for now, I’m on my way out the door to take the 3 hour drive to the in-laws for the wedding. Gee 3 hours tonight, 3 hours back on Sunday, 10 hours to Des Moines on Thursday, 10 hours from there to Denver next Sunday, and then home again later that week. My car and I are going to get to know one another rather well, eh? 😉

I am impressed. Andy managed to find the answer on Google. I wasn’t sure you’d be able to find the pronunciation and the history of the word Seanchai on there, but then I should know better than to ever doubt Google, eh? For the record the Seanchai were traditional Irish storytellers, and it’s pronounced “shawn-a-key”….

  • Hanging by a thread

I’ve been trying this morning to install the Symantec Corporate AV Server to our file server but I’m running into a problem that’s obviously going to require some reasearch, ugh! I initiate the server deploy and it starts ok, it gets to 100% of “copying files” and then just hangs. It does nothing from there…

Keep your fingers crossed), going over the seminar schedule for the…

That’s what my coworkers gave me today, when I told them of my after-work plans. I was making a trip over to my former employer’s to interview the consultant they are considering using to replace me as their emergency technical contact. Since they don’t have any IT people on staff, they needed me to meet…

  • Comments spam

I guess the new addition of the TableEditor turned out to be a double-edged sword last night. Yes, someone did leave a comment that was nothing more than “come visit my blog” with a link, and yes I did delete it. Unfortunately, I also left a comment by Anita that referred to said spam comment,…

  • Lazy sundays..

Lazy Sunday’s rock! OK so it wasn’t completely lazy, I did go through a couple of chapters of the VB 5 book, ran through a couple of exercises, and started to get down some of the code. But I also watched the DVD of Father Ted episodes that I picked up at the library, played…
