On the road again..

Got the AV definitons rolled back on my machine and the AV working again. The Live Update reports no new updates are available, which makes me think that either the update file that I grabbed yesterday is bad, or is incompatible with our older version of the software. Oh well, it’s probably about time we updated that anyway, I’ve only been saying that since 2001!

With all that taken care of, for now, I’m on my way out the door to take the 3 hour drive to the in-laws for the wedding. Gee 3 hours tonight, 3 hours back on Sunday, 10 hours to Des Moines on Thursday, 10 hours from there to Denver next Sunday, and then home again later that week. My car and I are going to get to know one another rather well, eh? 😉

Is my three day weekend over already? That sucks! Not that I haven’t had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend, I’m just not looking forward to going back to work. Moving on from commenting problems, because, frankly, I’m a little sick of looking at them. 🙂 Lots of work stuff to do today, probably light blogging. Yeah it’s true, I do have to come in and run some more database stuff this weekend. Seems that Ohio redrew it’s legisative districts, and with an election coming up in November, those political people upstairs want me to run all of our database records through the district queries to catch the changes. Not a…

  • The Dell has met it’s match

My new work PC has a 40GB hard drive, 2Ghz processor and 512MB of RAM. I’ve processed thousands of records from our membership database without so much as a blink’s worth of drag on system performance. I’ve run 6-7 memory intensive applications all at once without the slightest delay in switching windows. In short, I’ve…
