Challenging week

Should be an interesting week. I’ve got three new machines and an AV upgrade showing up, probably tomorrow. I’ll have to deploy those three machines, making sure to copy files, emails, calendars and all that stuff for those three, plus a fourth that is being moved from one user to another. Then I’ll have to get around and install the AV on every other machine we’ve got out there, (I’ll go ahead and install it before deploying the new ones, obviously.) which will also give me an opportunity to go ahead and install this IE patch on the machines.

To top it all off, I’ll only have 3 days to do it in if I want it finished this week, since I’ll be out at our training vendor site Thursday. I’m taking them up on an offer to come out, audit a class for free, tour the facility, etc. I’m auditing an HTML 4.01 class, mostly because I’ve never taken any sort of formal HTML class before and I think it might be interesting to see what I might have missed in teaching myself HTML. 😉

Of course if the machines don’t show up until later in the week, I’m not going to kill myself to get them up and running before the end of the week. They’ll just have to wait until next week.

Would you pay $500 to spend the day listening to people talk about blogging? Not that I was one of the “invited”, (I probably don’t live close enough to Boston) but please! I’m already sick of reading all the BS hype about blogging as it is! In fact, one day last week I was so…

Granted, I’ve been busy and not paying attention to blogs with all that much detail of late, so I almost missed this post over at Scoble’s, but this part jumped out at me after the discussion from last month. • On the other hand..

Turns out the network cable wasn’t unplugged, but somehow, someway the data-port just went dead on us. Has this ever happened to you? I’m thinking some sort of electrical short or something from the desk hitting it, but that seems somewhat far-fetched. Especially considering the telephone jack still works fine! I’m not an electrician, so…
