The old switcheroo

Since I couldn’t get past recreating that crash everytime I imported my OPML file into News Desk, I decided a change would do me good. So now I’m reading my news in Sharpreader, which has become a much nicer product in the time since I last tried, unsuccessfully, to use it! I was sort of looking for something that would handle both RSS and ATOM anyway, so the crashing just gave me another excuse to switch.

That’s the nice thing about news aggregators, there are so many good ones out there now and being developed that it’s not too difficult to pick and choose until you find one that makes you happy, and then when it stops making you happy, it’s not too difficult to switch yet again!

Thanks for all of the suggestions on renaming. • When a good UPS goes bad..

There’s nothing quite like the frantic, first thing in the morning call letting you know that “I turned it on and nothing happened!”. Of course the culprit, in this case, was a dead UPS battery, which is no surprise since some of these have been in use longer than I’ve been working here. (The hazards…

It seems that my latest webcam pic, which was taken after a successful install of Red Hat 7.1 as a “play and learn” installation, has gotten the attention of non other than Lockergnome’s head Penguin himself, Tony Steidler-Dennison. Like I said in Tony’s comments, I’m still getting paid to be a Windows guy but what’s…
