Trillian

Hey, there’s a new patch, I think, that fixes the Yahoo “problem”. I’ve been away all day so I don’t know the details but I know I couldn’t connect to Yahoo yesterday, I went and looked for an update today, installed it, and now I can connect to Yahoo.

Where have I been all day? I spent 3 hours this morning in a meeting discussing business ethics, ran straight from that meeting to the hospital, where my wife was getting a CAT scan done, and spent most of the afternoon awaiting those results. (She’s going to be fine, probably a viral infection, I’ll leave it up to her to share what she wants on her blog.)

I’ve had funner days. 🙂

  • Another entry?

Dan wrote to tell me about another possible entry into the Freeware News Aggregator Comparison. It’s called Free Reader. Alas, the review will be slightly delayed because said program does not appear to have any options to tell it to connect using a firewall and proxy. So I’ll have to wait until I have some…

So last night, after trying to get some html files into a readable format for my PocketPC (A plus study notes mostly.) I had a thought. “What if I could just take the text of the files and make a quick and dirty Microsoft Reader file out of it?” That would solve the difficulty I…

  • Lots of work today

Today will be a pretty work intensive day as the calendar conspires against me. Not only is this the Monday after a 4 day weekend, which would be quite a bit of catching up on it’s own, but it’s also the time to update our website database, which occurs every other week, and it’s the…

  • The end of IT Departments?

Read. Discuss… My thoughts? It’s an obvious case. There are simply too many different technologies at play to have an expert on staff for each of them. For example, where I work, I consider myself an “expert” when it comes to desktops, our memberships database, Access, end-user support and training, SOHO networking, etc. I’m not…
