Doppler

Doppler 2.0 RC1 is out. I downloaded it this morning and checked for the bug that I had to work around in 1.1.1 involving using space savers by date, and sure enough it’s fixed. And that’s not even the best part about it. It also supports multi-threaded downloads, resume downloads, and comes with a light weight RSS reader.

Nice work!

  • Perl funkiness

I’m still having Perl problems on the other site. MT-Blacklist simply won’t work at all. Each attempt leaves me with an error about the Storable binary image library being a newer version than the executable, or perhaps it’s the other way ’round. Either way, it simply won’t work. I tried to replace it with MT-Keystrokes,…

  • Flickr Question

I setup a Flickr account, not so much because I’m going to change how I display my traveling photos, but because I needed someplace to store pictures that go along with my posts to the 2guys2cities blog. My question is, when I use Flickr to post to a blog, is there any way to save…

  • Weekend Fun

We had tickets to the Ohio State-San Diego State game yesterday afternoon, and since Angela had to work a morning event on campus well before game time, Finnegan and I had some time to ourselves to tour the campus. He’s got a couple of his favorite poses over on his blog. Speaking of football, any…

So Angela’s work is looking to purchase an inexpensive Windows based HTML editor. They suggested FrontPage, after deciding that Dreamweaver was probably too expensive for them. She’s not the worlds biggest Frontpage fan, (neither am I), so she’s looking for some alternatives that’ll be cheaper, or the same in price as Frontpage, but still be…

  • Dell recall

So how many of the laptops you support have had their batteries recalled? We have 12 pool laptops and it looks like 6 of them will need to be replaced. Dell’s site reported that it would take about 2 weeks to get the replacements, but I imagine it might really take loner given the size…

  • Moving day?

The site’s been unreachable all morning. I heard through the grapevine that it’s because the servers are all being moved over to the as yet un-named merge partner’s company. I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that this will be worth the wait, in terms of improved reliability and service. We shall see. Hopefully I’ll be…
