Laptop Marshal

Laptop Marshal

This is the result of spending my time on the hunt for a missing laptop from our laptop pool while my manager gets Photoshop happy. Who says we don’t have a good time down in the IS Department?

And yes, as soon as I saw it I told him that was so totally going on-line tonight! 🙂

  • More on Scoble’s aggregator blog

Looks like Kunal has come up with a solution for Robert’s aggregator blog that should keep everyone happy: “His new version will post titles, and some text from the body, and post that. Only a small portion, though, not the entire text.” That’s excellent, I was really worried that he would switch over to a…

  • You gotta love it..

Someone, who shall remain nameless but who is related to me, (although not in my immediate family) forwarded me one of those chain letter email thingies. Not a big deal, she’s been known to do this from time to time, but in this case, she didn’t take out any of the previous forwarding information. This…

  • Greasemonkey problems

There seems to be a pretty serious security flaw in Greasemonkey, I’d highly recommend disabling it, getting the update and then waiting for the various scripts that will undoubtedly no longer work, to be updated themselves. Tags: Greasemonkey Follow these topics: Uncategorized

  • Nationwide wireless, and how to measure?

This New York Times article (registration required) talks about the plans of the bigco’s to look at rolling out a nationwide network for WiFi access. Sounds like an interesting idea, but are there enough people ready and willing to pay for WiFi to make it profitable? While I think people should want it, I’m not…

  • Word 2003 upgrade bug

Over the last few years I’ve done a few upgrades to Office 2003, and we’ve been rolling out Office 2003 at work (finally!) over the last few weeks, so how is it that today was the first time we ran into this bug with character units? Weird. But, there you have it, if you ever…

  • Day 2

Day two of the speakers part of Gnomedex is over. Sorry I didn’t get to blog any earlier, I had to leave my laptop charging as I forgot to charge it last night, and I planned on getting it during the lunch break, but instead got involved in a lengthy discussion about hardware with Ed…

  1. Do your co-workers ever get annoyed when you find photoshops like that great and take great pride in posting it online when they were really trying to embaress you?

Mind you – you may regret that in a few years when it’ll be cached forever with google 😉

  2. Not at all. I don’t think it was meant to be embarrassing, we were just having fun with the situation. In fact, I’m thinking of adding it to the emails I send to remind people to bring back the laptops when they’re late.

And I don’t really care if it gets cached by Google, I think it shows I have a sense of humor about my job, which is a good thing! 🙂

  3. HA HA HA… I Love it!

Something to point to within the show notes of the cast since your segment is airing this week.

    🙂
