Big Bride?

Seriously, is McBride that uncommon of a name? Sadly, the rest of the dinner experience pretty much matched the inability to get the name. I had never been to a Rainforest Cafe before this, and well, I guess the next time we’re in a town that has one, we’ll know better.

Other than that we had a really great time in San Francisco. I highly recommend taking the evening Alcatraz tour, you get some great views of the bay at sunset and the skyline at night, and when it’s dark, the cell house is just a little spooky. More pictures to come.

Also, you can’t go wrong when you see 15 wireless networks from your hotel room at the corner of Lombard and Van Ness, can you? Most were secured, but not all. Of course, since the hotel had free wifi, I felt no need to pry into those other open networks for bandwidth.

Dan wrote to tell me about another possible entry into the Freeware News Aggregator Comparison. It’s called Free Reader. Alas, the review will be slightly delayed because said program does not appear to have any options to tell it to connect using a firewall and proxy. So I’ll have to wait until I have some…

Is it just me, or is this week dragging by at a snail’s pace for everyone? Somehow, I think maybe they missed on the “increased stability” they were going for, don’t you? Gee I’m in an awfully complaint-centered mood today, aren’t I?…

Well, apparently it’s wrapped and it should be available in a few weeks. Looking over Chris’ list of new features and cool things about this service pack, I must say I’m excited to see the finished product. I’ve avoided doing any beta testing on it when the beta was released, mostly because of my own…

  1. I agree about the Rainforest Café. We have one at the Mall of America, and it’s a lot of waiting for not much. The most they have going for them is the atmosphere and that’s about it.

  2. This one had a surly manager who didn’t do anything but argue with me and eventually offer a dessert when faced with complaints about the quality of the food.
