Saw this post over on Download Squad about an open-source knowledge base tool and thought, “wow, that would be an interesting tool for a small business or home business”.
I think KBPublisher could have quite a few uses in that realm, don’t you?
Heck I’d recommend it for use in our office but I don’t think we have anything with mySQL on it right now. Too much SQL Server stuff for that! 🙂

Jenny pointed me in the direction of kunekt, which will take your contact information and make an RSS or RDF file out of it. So you can use your favorite aggregator and subscribe to folks contact information. Sort of like collecting business cards, but I can keep the information completely updated for you. That’s fairly…
As some of you know, if you’ve been paying attention, I’ve been trying, albeit unsuccessfully, to bring the RSS movement to the place I work. Mostly it’s been out of a fear that the emails we send our members are increasingly not being delivered. Well now, as Jenny pointed out, the Public Utilities Commission of…
It’s all stored in the browser, which carries some risk of computer crashes, but they claim to have backup and transfer mechanisms. It could provide a playground or personal knowledge base, complete with some AI, without worrying about it being stored in the cloud, because you can’t share it. It can be a place to play with WordPress design and experimentation without the need for hosting or for it to be available on the public internet.
I found some numbers in an article about the various types of media that a forensic analyst may find themselves dealing with in terms of what we would normally consider pretty disturbing cases. I think what they show most of all, is that this work is terribly difficult to do on a daily basis. The…
“Tenable Network Security surveyed “700 security practitioners across seven key industry verticals and nine countries” that produced “a single report card score that represents overall confidence levels of security practitioners that the world’s cyber defenses are meeting expectations.” The “2017 Global Cybersecurity Assurance Report Card” from Tenable with research partner CyberEdge Group included these comments…
Thanks to Josh’s reminder, I went back and followed the directions Kevin had pointed to about making MT’s RSS feeds validate and include the whole entry. Now the feeds from the new site should be full-content feeds. Eventually maybe I’ll add the comments link to the feed as well, we’ll just see how things go…

WOW! That does sound like a cool package! Might have to check that one out. I’m currently using a wiki for a KB… this sounds like a much better fit.
Nice find!
I downloaded and installed kbpublisher…but all it shows me is a blank page.
Anyone can tell me what needs to be fixed.
I’m running PHP 5 / mySQL 4
Vijay, I’ve not run into that so I don’t know but I can suggest you take a look at the support forums they have and ask your question over there:

I had the same problem and installation of mysql extension for PHP helped. This extension isn’t default during PHP install and you must turn it on manually.
