Google Analytics Update

I got an email from Google yesterday revealing that they have upgraded Google Analytics to a new, beta version. It comes with a customizable dashboard now, as well as the ability to not only export, or email reports to yourself, but the ability to schedule reports to be E-mailed to you automatically. That’s pretty cool, especially since I have a tendency to forget to look at the site for long stretches of time. 😉

Now I can get a couple of reports that are important to me E-mailed on a weekly basis. Granted, since I don’t have advertising, I’m less interested in the analytics than alof of folks might be, but I still like to see how the site is doing, what’s getting folks attention, and what isn’t. Things like that tend to make me a better blogger.

Yeah so the new blogger gives me new stuff, a comments feed and I can use labels to generate a page of posts with just that topic (i.e. Blogging, and yes there’s a way to get a feed of just those posts too, for example see the FriendsinTech feed.), but it also just doesn’t seem…

Prepping for the End of Feedburner

It’s not quite dead yet, but it certainly is on the deathwatch. Given that fact, while I’m not quite pulling the plug on using Feedburner for the RSS feed from this site, or the email subscription to the site, I have switched the sidebar on the blog to use the original WordPress RSS feeds and…

    Google Wave: So Far, Meh

Image by mikemac29 via Flickr So I managed to get an invite to Google Wave over the weekend (Thanks Kreg!), and started poking around with it last night. Not enough time to have any well-thought out opinions, but enough to have an instant reaction: I’m optimistically underwhelmed at this point. Do I think there’s some…

  • WordPress Queston/Complaint

WordPress allows for multiple authors, and allows me, as the administrator, to limit contributors to only post drafts, that do not get published until I review it, but doesn’t have an option for me to get an email when there’s a new post waiting for me to review? Seriously? Is it just me, or does…

  • Google Docs Offline

Interesting little video done by David Carns about where Google is storing your documents when you enable offline capabilities, and the implications for ediscovery in terms of locating those documents on a machine that has been used with Google Docs offline feature. As with any cloud service, if you have offline capabilities built in, you…
