I get it. Many places likely won’t bother checking your references. However, some will, and can you afford to miss an opportunity because you didn’t consider who you were listing as a reference, or weren’t sure what they would say about you?
I know the job search is terrible right now. I know many people involved in it, and I share their frustration. The job market, especially in the tech industry, is a dystopian nightmare. That’s all the more reason to dot all of your i’s and cross all of your t’s when it comes to what you can control. Thankfully, people are sharing this kind of advice with you!
