Question regarding Trillian

Here’s a good question regarding Trillian from Mumble Daily :

If it can handle some connections through a proxy server and others not that’ll be real cool. We’ll see, though, how flexible it is.

Now since I’m not using a proxy at home, and it would violate the security policy I wrote to install Trillian at work, (at least for now it would) using proxy connections hasn’t been a major concern of mine. Has anyone out there been playing with Trillian? How flexible is it, really?
