Things you don’t want your tech guy to say

From the Mac guy a few minutes ago:

“If that’s wrong it shouldn’t have run at all. I can’t understand how that happened?”.

I can’t wait to hear more from him. 🙂

Update: Those of you with Macs will probably get this more than I do, but the problems were a corrupt system folder, and corrupt fonts, and Pagemaker needed to be reinstalled, and Distiller needed to be reinstalled and patched, etc. etc. All in all, almost 4 hours of tech support time. After all of that, however, the Pagemaker file that our Graphics guy has spent over a week working on is still fudged. Both the “in progress” and backup copies of it are corrupt in some way that all of that did not fix. Looks like he’s going to have to start over on that file. Poor guy.

Here’s what I don’t get. Everyone gets the occasional stupid, downright offensive comment, right? Why then do some bloggers make such a big deal over them? Why do they engage these people in an argument, or publicly expose their IP address or whatever other information they can get hold of? What purpose does it really…

After my experiences today I’m reconsidering the way I look at password policies. I had to go around and install the new drivers for that Canon copier/printer today on about 15 machines. The install involved installing the Canon LPR port, installing the print driver, restarting, and then entering the Department ID information for the print…

I checked the Dell site last night to see how the production of my Axim X5 was going only to discover that they had shipped it on Monday, and that it had arrived at the UPS distribution center in Columbus yesterday evening. So it’s on schedule for delivery this morning! Now I’m thinking that my…
