It’s 3:30PM

Yes it’s 3:30PM and I’m still working on the same problem that was carried over from yesterday. It’s taken me almost this long just to convince them that it wasn’t the FTP client I was using that was causing the problem. I’ve only been using this FTP client for years with no problems up until yesterday, when they switched to a new proxy server, but surely the problem is on my end, right?

Just to be sure I downloaded another FTP app, and setup an HTML editor’s internal FTP program and they all had the same result. Try again and quit giving me a headache!

Later:4:47PM, it’s working! I can go home and enjoy my weekend now!

Not that I don’t still like Amphetadesk, but I felt the need to try something new. So I downloaded NewsDesk this morning and it works pretty well. I really like it! Yeah I have a slow day and I go home and look for new freeware to play with, isn’t that always the way? BTW,…

You’ll of course remember a few days ago when Chris posted his Blogger’s Manifesto, right? Well now David Weinberger has parodied that into the Real Blogger’s Manifesto, which is pretty funny. • Do I really have to go back to work again?

Ugh, those 10PM arrivals into the airport really catch up with you at work the next morning, don’t they? Trip was a lot of fun, took some great pics, which you’ll probably get to see sometime later in the week. Obviously, we didn’t have time to download them or work with them in any way…

  • More aggregators

In the interest of being thorough, (and in providing service to the 4% 2.68% (to be exact) of my site visitors that use a Mac,) a Mac news aggregator freeware program became available. It’s called NetNewsWire Lite 1.0b2, from Brent Simmons. Early reviews are positive but, not having a Mac myself, I can’t really verify…

  • Travel Tech

Just as I thought, the Pocket Streets map of downtown Baltimore came in very handy. It was nice to be able to pull out the Axim and map out exactly how to get where we wanted, or even to just look up what was nearby, in terms of places to eat, things to see, etc….
