Thanks!

Thanks to everyone who either left a comment or posted on their own blog their congrats for passing the A+ exams. It may not seem like such a big deal to some of the ubergeeks out there who passed theirs years ago, but it was an important first step in spiffing up my resume and getting it looking better for the job search, so there was some pressure in that regard. (And it’s been years since I had to prepare for a test, so that left quite a bit of uncertainty as well.)

Regardless, it felt good to accomplish exactly what I set out to do, and it feels even better to be done with it! Now I can move on to other things, which I haven’t felt free to do for weeks now as I prepared for the tests. First order of business is catching up emails that I’ve been meaning to write and reading blogs that I normally read much more frequently. I gotta go see what you all have been up to lately. 🙂

Well no, that would be second order of business, the first was spending time with Angela last night and making sure I thanked her for being understanding and supportive during the last few weeks of watching her husband blow off everything to make sure he studied enough. But, like I said, that has been done, and now that I’m back in the office, and have some reports to run, I can always run those in the background while I catch up tech news and blog reading. (Oh the power of the 2.4Ghz/512MB of RAM! I actually get work done all day while I’m doing other stuff. It’s almost like being in two places at the same time. *L*)

It looks like, unless something drastically changes over the next three weeks, that the drive to Gnomedex this year will be part of a much larger, and longer, vacation plan. Last year, of course, I drove from Des Moines up to Fargo, ND to visit a friend, and then across to Montana and down into…

Sept. 22, 2001: Angela and I were married in a small town in Tennessee. On this day I know of no higher compliment to my wife than to acknowledge that I am a better man for having been married to her these last 5 years, and I have no doubt that I will continue to grow and improve so long…

    Personal Tech update

Just an update on some things I’ve been doing. Angela already wrote about the Roomba, so I’ll leave that alone, other than to say, as a gadget type of guy, I’m fascinated by watching it work. (Of course, the whole point is that it works while you’re doing something else, so I need to break…

Ed Bott loves it. I read about it and downloaded it. I opened it, I configured it to login to this blog. I saw some very interesting things. I saw some definite promise. Unfortunately, I also saw a tool that needs some more work before I can depend on it full time. Seems like they’ve…
