Our own little war..

There’s going to be a war in my office, specifically on the floor I work on, and it’s going to be over the coffee maker. I do not understand how grown adults can think it’s ok to spill coffee down the counter and into little puddles on the floor and walk away from it. (That’s what I walked in on this morning, coffee on the floor and no one around..) Then there’s the people who turn off the coffee but don’t bother to rinse the pot, or the people who take all but the very last drop of coffee and put it back on the burner, (Yeah that makes quite the mess!) or leave the burner on overnight, etc.

It’s bad enough that I have to babysit some people when it comes to using their computers, isn’t it?

OK, I’m all vented now. I feel much better. *L*

  • Busy..

Been busy this morning with a bad Symantec Corporate Edition client. One of the PC’s had a problem getting the updated definitions file, such a bad problem that the AV just stopped working, throwing up “bad environment” errors at startup. Since the AV wouldn’t run, it couldn’t communicate with the server it’s supposed to be…

The office is closing a couple of hours early today to give everyone a head start on their Thanksgiving holiday. • Going low tech

Been enjoying some non-techie time all weekend with the wife, but logged back in to discover that the Child Abuse site is offline. I’ve got an email out to the host, so we’ll see what’s happening on that front. I don’t have any idea what happened. If you’re looking for it, that’s all I know!…

  • What else can go wrong?

So the voice mail system went kaput! already this morning. There’s nothing quite like looking over at your phone and seeing the red light next to the voice mail button on solid red when you don’t have the phone off the hook. Hmm let’s see, if I hit the button it says “Voicemail is Unplugged”….

  • Gmail Remote Command

This seems like a rather insecure way to remotely control your PC. Afterall, anyone can send emails to your gmail account with “keywords”. Unless you can use long, randomly-generated, sets of characters. Even then, if you really have a need to control your PC remotely, learn to use a VNC program. Tags: GmailRemoteCommand Follow these…
