Round up

I meant to write this last night, but I took Nyquil for a cold and spent the night in bed, so I never quite go around to it. 🙂

I did, finally, get the AV stuff installed on my machine as the server and the new desktop as client, pulling the definitions from my machine. It refused to see my machine as a legit AV server until I rebooted my machine, so keep that in mind if you’re ever doing one of these. I had to install directly on to the new machine, I apparently have something screwed up with the shares and permissions in XP, because when I tried to deploy from my machine to it, I got “access denied” errors. I’ll have to look a bit more into that before I roll out that machine to the user, but other than that, it’s ready to go. Then I’ll have to do the two laptops, so I do hope I find the permisions problem relatively soon and get it taken care of on all three. Once those are out the door, I should be able to deploy to all the other machines currently on the network, since I know those permissions are working ok.

But that’s for tomorrow (and probably Monday as well..). Today I am auditing that HTML class, so I may not have any ‘net access during the day.

Since today is a big day, as far as Supreme Court decisions coming out, it’s only fitting that I hit a couple of legal questions. Much to the chagrin of my geeky side, yesterday while trying to figure out how to remotely check messages on our new answering machine, I accidentally erased the greeting instead of the message and had to record a new one. I recorded a new one, but in the course of telling Angela about this little…

Some things to ponder over the weekend: Umm where are you priorities? this story of a man who grilled a kitten has hit the Daypop Top 40, with all of appropriate condemnations, including a letter-writing campaign. That’s all fine, but if that’s blogworthy, where are you people on the abduction, rape, and murder of a…

I was hoping the long weekend would never end, but it did. So sad! It’s ok, it’s storming outside now, so it’s not like I’m missing good weather! Anyway, thanks for the debate Scoble! It’s been fun to have some back and forth on the topic, without it getting personal. I’ll admit I can see…

  • How was your day?

Here’s some pictures to show you what things around here are like today. It’s probably a good thing we both had today off work for President’s Day, there’s no way we would have made it. Especially not when you consider the one car that could handle the snow better is in the shop! Great timing!…
