Dead Milkmen

Via Eclectism this morning I see what may be the coolest use of Movable Type to date, at least in my opinion. The posting of circa 1985 Dead Milkmen Tour Stories! That’s defintely an addition to the news aggregator. While I missed them in Columbus in 1985 I did catch them at the Newport Music Hall around 1988-89. One of the most fun live shows I’ve ever been too, even if my friend and I did have to help this poor girl who had gotten kicked in the head by a careless stage diver. There’s even a mention of Columbus local rock legends Royal Crescent Mob in the latest batch of entries, we must have seen them play more than a dozen times.

Ah yes, those were some wild days…:)

I got an email last night that was similar to this post on Bob Parson’s blog about the NITA decision to forbid private domain registrations of the .us domains which, for once, was a company actually sending me an email that interested me! If you’re into that sort of thing, but use Blogger or some other weblogging tool that doesn’t do trackbacks, you have some options. You can use either SimpleTracks or the Stand Alone Trackback Form to manually ping web blogs that do support trackbacks. (links found on Robyn’s site, perhaps I’ll use this post to test…

There’s a terrific, if somewhat lengthy, conversation taking place in the comments as well. I’m sure I’ll have something more to say about the idea, but I want…

  • Our own little war..

There’s going to be a war in my office, specifically on the floor I work on, and it’s going to be over the coffee maker. I do not understand how grown adults can think it’s ok to spill coffee down the counter and into little puddles on the floor and walk away from it. (That’s…

  • Accessibility issues

Have you been reading Mark Pilgrim’s 30 days to a more accessible weblog? You should be, it’s got some really good stuff. For example, in the last two days he’s had links to Lynx viewer, which lets you take a quick look at how your site renders to someone using Lynx, and to VisCheck which…

  • Switch over

I officially switched the RSS Feed over to the new BloggerPro version of it, since it came out of Beta and into production. Now if you click the little “XML” image on the right side, you’ll go to that feed instead of the old one. The old one will continue to work for now, but…
