Tired, cranky and ready to go home

Yeah it’s been that kind of day, it’s been that kind of week here in the office, as a matter of fact.

Hell, who am I kidding? It’s been that kind of YEAR!!!

I’ve spent most of this week correcting other people’s mistakes. Mistakes that mostly involve an inability to follow directions. This is the part of IT that they don’t tell you about in the certification schools, the part where you have to deal with people. People who don’t like computers, and don’t like you because you know more than they do about them. People who don’t take anything you say seriously, and therefore feel no need to follow your directions. They make it up as they go along, and then expect you to fix it when they screw it up.

And you will, because you care more about getting it right than you do about making other people look bad, even though they’ll sell you out in a heartbeat if you do something wrong.

Yeah I’m not real happy with the human race right now, can you tell? 🙂

  • Failed inspiration

I had a sudden thought this morning in the shower about the comments. The sudden realization that I had put the link to the comments BlogItemNumber in quotes so it would look for a string instead of a number but I hadn’t put the quotes around the second part of the comments code where that…

Spent a little time today adding a couple of products from the “Back to School” line over at the One Man IT Department store. I’m not completely sold on the image on the briefcase, but the cooler looks excellent, and it’s even on sale right now! I might work on a different image for the…
