Tired, cranky and ready to go home

Yeah it’s been that kind of day, it’s been that kind of week here in the office, as a matter of fact.

Hell, who am I kidding? It’s been that kind of YEAR!!!

I’ve spent most of this week correcting other people’s mistakes. Mistakes that mostly involve an inability to follow directions. This is the part of IT that they don’t tell you about in the certification schools, the part where you have to deal with people. People who don’t like computers, and don’t like you because you know more than they do about them. People who don’t take anything you say seriously, and therefore feel no need to follow your directions. They make it up as they go along, and then expect you to fix it when they screw it up.

And you will, because you care more about getting it right than you do about making other people look bad, even though they’ll sell you out in a heartbeat if you do something wrong.

Yeah I’m not real happy with the human race right now, can you tell? 🙂

  • The important issue

OK now that our little national diversion is over, can we get to the really important issue of the day? Can we settle the NHL lockout? Please? Seriously, FoxSports Ohio, due to the lack of Blue Jackets games, has started showing “Classic Blue Jackets” games to fill programming. Classic games? They’ve been in the league…

  • Thank you!

Given the date, and also considering my promise to not make myself part of the remembrances, I still feel the need to say something. No, not about Sept. 11, or anything like that, because those thoughts are private, and personal. But to take a moment, as we all should this day, to appreciate all the…

  • Cool

Thanks to Cam World for pointing out this $399 computer from Walmart. When did Wally’s World start selling PC’s with no OS? That’s not a bad deal at all, seems like a pretty powerful machine, but no network card sort of sucks. That can be dealt with. I’ve never used a Microtel machine, anyone have…
