Open Source CMS

Want to try one, or more, open source CMS systems out without having to download and install software? Check out this little nugget from ResearchBuzz:

“Now THIS is a marvelous idea. Put a bunch of content management systems online with screenshots, and descriptions. Make the admin passwords public so that anyone can log in and “test-drive” the system. Delete and reinstall each system every two hours. It’s called opensourceCMS.com and you can get to at http://opensourcecms.com/ , natch.”

This looks like a very cool little place to play around, eh?

  • Trackback Disabled

I disabled trackbacks on the entire blog. I’m tired of dealing with the spam. Perhaps if Haloscan puts something together that makes some effort at blocking it I’ll think about it again, but for now, it’s too much work deleting the dozens of spam trackbacks every single day. While the trackbacks will still appear in…

  • Bad Managers Cause Poor Mental Health

Think about it, someone in management who has never learned how to communicate will have a team unaware of what is happening. Leaders who follow the examples of those above them, who’ve created a misogynistic culture, will continue with the same practices. When things don’t go smoothly, managers getting berated from above will berate the people below them. And on and on it goes.

If we want a healthier, open, and inclusive workplace, we need to train the people in charge of setting the tone and the culture. All the lunchtime yoga and meditation in the world can’t overcome that shortcoming.

  • Why?

If you worked in sales for a relatively large, classroom computer-training company, and you had to make sales calls to IT people would you make any of those calls before 9AM? It’s not like I want to hear from you ever, let alone when I’m still working on my first cup of coffee! Follow these…

  • A question

Erik Noble wonders if I really hate my job, and if so, why I’m still here. He is correct in his assumption that the reasons I’m still here are financial. I’m getting close to having been here 5 years, and those of you with pensions funds know what 5 years means. Fully vested! So there’s…

  • Not as useful as it could be.

SO I was doing my normal morning review of feeds to see what’s going on in the blogosphere when I saw a mention of a new utility on Slipstick called Outlook Central. According to it’s description: Use Outlook Central to share calendars, contacts, journals, notes, tasks and email folders with other Outlook users without the…

I found the Peachtree Forums today and discovered that we’re not the first one’s to have issues printing with this version of Peachtree. I suppose that means more work on that tomorrow to see if we can finally get this working correctly! Speaking of tomorrow, I’ll be up around 6 to take Angela to the…
