The big debate

I have to admit, my expertise when it comes to Powerpoint is limited, to say the least. So I’m asking, in PowerPoint 2000, when you use the Insert menu to insert a multimedia file into a presentation, does it link the file, or embed the file? And if it only links the file, what steps need to be taken to embed the file?

My guess is that it links the file, because someone did that here and it worked on his PC, but no one else’s, and didn’t work when he was disconnected from the network. All of which makes sense if the presentation is using a relative link to find the media file.
