Service

Yesterday, between running around to meetings (I was out of the office attending meetings regarding other, personal, interests, bet you didn’t even notice?) I loaded up Trillian and ran into an error connecting to ICQ. Last night I did it again. I made a note to check the Trillian user forums and see if this was a bug or something, but got involved looking at a friend’s site code and forgot all about it.

This afternoon I thought about it again, so I loaded up Trillian on my laptop to see if the connection error was still happening, and got prompted instead to install the update that fixed the connection problem. Nice work!

Well last night I was REALLY hating Symantec, I’ve since cooled off a bit. A friend of ours purchased, and then tried to install, Norton’s System Works 2006. She thought she had a successful install, however when she restarted her computer, her new System Works immediately went into red stop sign mode, telling her that…

  • Talking Google

Did we really need another IM service? Of all the many things Google could build with all the IPO money they’ve gotten recently is this really one of the things that should be high on the list? Are they in cahoots with the makers of Trillian, who’s free version won’t work with the Jabber protocol,…

I worked hard getting some of the photo albums together for the move over to this site. (Well except the wedding photos, those are going to stay at Yahoo for the time being.) You can see what I’ve gotten so far here. I’ve got copies of about 3 more albums worth of pictures loaded to…

  • Spam fighting

See, sometimes Microsoft has a good idea . By limiting the number of messages you can send with a free email account, they cut off all those spammers using hotmail accounts to send spam. That would be a good thing, and the 100 messages per day should be plenty for normal users. Really, if you…

  • A big step

I took the big plunge last night. Now that I’ve transferred over all the content from the Geocities site to either this location or the child abuse site, I went ahead and deleted the Geocities site. It is no more, after 6 years of existence and many different permutations. It’s time to move on to…
