More Firefox in the news

A roundup of Firefox stuff I’ve posted on the linkblog:

J-Walk Blog pointed to a nice collection of Firefox Tips.

Lockergnome has information on a new Firefox vulnerability.

Marc Orchant is pointing to a customized version of Firefox for portable drives. Not only is this a pretty decent idea to sync your version of Firefox if you use mutliple PC’s but it might also be a good way to show off Firefox to your friends on their PC without having to go through an install, and finding the extensions you want, etc.

Neville Hobson is urging you to get Firefox, but keep that IE around for sites that still need it. He’s also pointing to some comparisons of various browsers.

Worse, at the…

I saw this post on Network World fusion about Skype and started following the links. It’s pretty interesting reading, especially Mark O’Neill’s post about using Skype behind a NAT firewall. • Windows Defender

I downloaded the new beta for what they are now calling Windows Defender the other night. (Formally known as Microsoft Anti-Spyware) It’s definitely a clean interface, and it seems to run a bit quicker. A “quick-scan” of my laptop system only took 3 minutes. That seems faster than I remember most products quick scans taking….
