Old pictures

Any of you that are interested in old pictures might want to pay attention to what Angela’s working on with her Flickr Blog. When we saw those old pics in January we knew we had to get them home and get them scanned in, so that we would be able to digitally preserve them.

This is why I take pictures. So people will be able to see what I saw in my time. Getting to see what Angela’s great uncle and grandfather saw in their time through their pictures is very cool.

    Google Is Not A Source

http://www.freetech4teachers.com/2014/12/how-not-to-cite-image.html You don’t credit a photographer by listing the search engine as the source of the image. Morten passed along this link, which is a place for you to validate your robots.txt file. He mentioned it to me because the robots.txt file I just put up on Monday had a typo in it. How embarrassing, but also how cool that it took less than 48 hours for someone to give me a…

  • WiFi illegal?

Some interesting points raised by this article about the legalities of wireless access. I think the ending is probably right on: But ultimately if we want to move to ubiquitous wireless computing, where you can use the WiFi protocols for cheap, mobile VOIP communications, or have near universal wireless Internet access, we are going to…

  • Copying and linking

Christine has had a rather long discussion going on over the last 2 days about pinging weblogs.com and how anyone can take that data and use it to list your blog pretty much anywhere, etc. (It’s all tied into people figuring out how they got listed in BlogShares without their knowledge and so on and…
