Codename Max

Yeah, I installed Max this evening. This is Microsoft’s new photo-sharing tool. At this point the only real advantage to this as opposed to just having a Flickr list and sharing it with people is the ability to do a couple of funky things with displaying photos as they would look framed on a mantle, or in a photo album. Hopefully, they add more stuff to it to really allow you to get creative with how to show off your photos. I haven’t set-up any shared lists, but I might at some point when I have some more time, so if you are using it, let me know so I can see what you’re doing and I’ll be sure to let you know about lists I create in the future!

Of course, I’ll still concentrate mostly on putting pictures on-line so everyone who wants to see them who isn’t using Max, or Windows for that matter, can see them.

Progress that I’ve made on the $0 budget intranet so far this week: Installed SlimFTP for Uniserver plugin. Ran into that same old start bug that the 3.2 version of Uniserver had, however I discovered that just starting the FTP server from the .exe instead of the batch file works like a charm. Installed WebCalendar….

Just when I spent last night thinking that my site traffic had slowed down somewhat since the outage this weekend, Chris mentions me in Today’s Lockergnome along with seven other blogs that he visits but which aren’t well known. (And are very good by the way!) Thanks Chris, and thanks for stopping by all you…

OK, I’ve got the MS Office beta, OneNote beta, InfoPath beta and Publisher beta installed. It wasn’t overly difficult and ran into only one small problem. Outlook on first start needed me to reinsert the Office CD in order to create the first “welcome message”. It was ok 1 minute later. Activation took about a…

  • Busy..

Been busy this morning with a bad Symantec Corporate Edition client. One of the PC’s had a problem getting the updated definitions file, such a bad problem that the AV just stopped working, throwing up “bad environment” errors at startup. Since the AV wouldn’t run, it couldn’t communicate with the server it’s supposed to be…
