Has Dell started to engage?

They seem to be at least trying to engage bloggers and participate in the conversations about their products that are going on. I got this email today:

Good Morning Mike,

I am writing in regards to your post http://www.mikemcbrideonline.com/2006/08/dell-recall.html. I am more than happy to answer any questions regarding your Dell affected battery(s). If you have arranged for the battery replacements, I can provide a order status update. Please feel free to email me directly.

Best Regards,

Marie

Now granted, our replacements have already arrived and are in place, so I have no complaints, but it’s nice to know they’re listening.

Update:Adam Gaffin, over at Network World, linked to this post, and pretty quickly got a comment from someone at Dell, they certainly are listening!

Yup we got a few copies of the My Party virus here at work. As a test, I decided to not send a warning out. Since I’ve explicitly told everyone here at least a dozen times that they should never, ever open an attachment that they’re not expecting, they shouldn’t need to be told every…

It’s amazing how few companies in the world will actually accept responsibility for anything. That PC still doesn’t work. My wife’s artistic side is raging again, and as much as I want to help her and support her, my non-artistic side has no idea about her new designs. I’m just not programmed that way, as any look around here will tell you! *L* So go take a look at her creations and give her…

  • On-line applications

I think this post pretty much sums out why using on-line apllications makes me nervous, even though I do use quite a few, but I take careful steps to make sure I have backups of everything that’s on-line and don’t share anything with an on-line application that I wouldn’t want you all to know about….

  • IT Crowd

I finally got some time to watch the first two episodes of the IT Crowd over at BBC4. It’s pretty funny stuff and while most of it is farce there’s just enough truth to it to make your typical IT folks nod with familiarity. When Moss asks Roy “Did she continue talking to you AFTER…
