ALSP First Impressions
I had mentioned earlier that I’d be joining ALSP for the introductory rate of $25 for an individual to see what it was all about, and how it developed. I started getting a couple of emails about upcoming webcasts, and the schedule on the site looks pretty interesting. I have to give them some credit for that.
As I looked around the rest of the site today, I couldn’t help but feel like it’s still a work in progress. Certainly the Certification Program is an actual work in progress and the discussion forums are pretty bare, but the newsletters are useful, the webcasts look good, and there is even an archive area for webcasts after the fact. I’ll be interested to see how much of a presence they’ll have at ABA Techshow, in March. Since they are based in Chicago, I would expect there to be some. I’m still waiting to see what my membership benefits me, as opposed to the things that appear to be available to the public, but I’m more than willing to wait and see how the group develops over the next year.
Of course, I’ll keep you posted on that as well!
