Ning Finally Announces Details

I had wondered if I was ever going to hear from Ning about my free network and what my options are about keeping the network there. As it turns out, today was the day, and the details made me glad I had already made the switch to Buddypress for the Survivors Network.

According to their price list, the 480-odd member network would have cost me either $19.95 per month, or $199.95 per year. That’s pretty significant for something I put together in my spare time. In fact, it’s almost as much as I already pay in hosting fees for all of my websites. I just can’t see putting that out every year for the network when there’s an option like Buddypress available. So, even though the new network site has been a little slow to pick up steam, I think moving it was the right choice. Now I’ve just got to figure out how to get everyone engaged again!
