I can still recall some of the horrible experiences I had dealing with tech recruiting firms in the past. I wouldn’t ever recommend them to anyone I knew looking for work in that field. I have either experienced, or seen others, get similar treatment from direct employers as well. It’s 2012 and we are all connected in myriad ways. That means when you treat candidates rudely, word spreads around about you, and the next time there may be some well qualified folks who skip applying for your opening, and maybe a few more folks who don’t want to do business with you.
Really, is it that hard to take some time and treat applicants with some dignity and class?
