This is a problem, but it’s not just a problem of phone addiction, it’s also a problem of management. How many people have been told to focus on a project and not allow email to be a distraction by the same manager who sends a follow up email or calls if you don’t respond in 10-15 minutes?
How do workers get anything done if every phone notification is an excuse to stop and deal with one email or some other interruption?
