Blogger explains itself

Blogger explains itself, concerning the recent problems with publishing. Seems they have too much load on their servers. I haven’t been able to publish for most of the day, bummer. Evan is working on a permanent solution. Hope he finds one, and that blogger can stay free for it’s users. (Or at least inexpensive!)

That also partly explains my lack of posts today, the other big reason is the downfall of my hard drive. I’m busy trying to recover what I can before replacing the drive. I lost a bunch of it to bad clusters, but nothing too important. Anything really important I had copied to the network, lest I be a hypocrite about telling people to do that all the time!

Reading – Facebook blogging could be great…

Neville does a good job of identifying some of the shortcomings of Facebook’s new Notes update in terms of thinking about using it for “blog” posts. It’s nice that he went and shared those so I didn’t have to spend time finding them myself. 😉 Do you plan on making use of Facebook Notes? Facebook…

IPRO Jumping on the Social Media Bandwagon?

It would appear that way. The IPROTech Twitter account showed up in my Twitter followers today, and they pointed to the brand new IPROTech blog. It’s always interesting when the folks behind a product you use on a regular basis join the SM fray. I’m going to be paying attention, and see if they put…

  • Revue Newsletter Option

What I have been experimenting with, and which might interest some of you, is the new email newsletter tool that Twitter has made available, called Revue. It’s a little more hands-on than the current newsletter, so while I plan to send it out every Friday, I can’t swear to you that will always happen. On the other hand, I get to add some more stuff to this newsletter because it’s more hands-on. So I can pull in some links from other sources, drop in some text, etc. In essence, I’ll be experimenting with it, but you can expect that the goal will remain the goal I’ve always had with my blog, writing, and sharing interesting things that might help you out with technology, work, etc.

You can subscribe, and take a peek at some of my recent experimental issues over at my Revue profile. I hope you’ll consider subscribing, and sharing with your friends if you find it useful!

Linked – RSS Readers Are Due for a Comeback

This is true, there’s no reason for people to be stuck only reading what social media decides they would like to read. Alas, too many of us are not actually interested in doing anything more than knowing what our social networks decide is important. “But anyone weary of black-box algorithms controlling what you see online…

    My Blogs on Apple News

With the release of iOS9, Apple will also be releasing Apple News, which frankly seems to be a direct shot at Flipboard’s dominance in viewing news about topics that interest you in a slick magazine type layout. Well, when you get Apple News up and ready, know that this website, and all of the blogs…

    Twitter Lists

I finally got a chance this week to look at the new Twitter Lists feature, and I must say, now that I’ve seen it in use, I get it a little better than I first did. When I first heard about it, I honestly thought, “Yeah so what, I already have groups in Tweetdeck, I…
