XP SP2

There’s a new channel9 video covering some of the new security features and what the user experience is going to be like.

By the way, I agree with what Scott says about it. It is going to be harder for casual end users, because they are going to be expected to think. I have been in this position long enough to tell you that any change, especially ones that require end users to think about using their computers, is going to cause many frantic phone calls to the IT folks. Thank goodness I only have 5 people running XP, for now. Maybe I can get them used to it before we start rolling out XP to other users.

This is the control room at the brand new WOSU@COSI, a hands-on learning TV and Radio studio. Last night, Angela and I were lucky enough to attend a preview gala, complete with a tour of the facilities, a few PBS and NPR celebs and part of the Ohio State marching band (aka TBDBITL). I was…

  • Why?

I have a question, when you’re switching from using Outlook Express 6 to Outlook 2000, why does Outlook refuse to import message rules that are incompatible with older versions of Outlook? Learn to Code, Unless You’re in Prison

Apparently, while we are busy telling anyone and everyone who’s job is at risk due to technology to “learn to code”, if you’re in prison in certain states looking to make a better life for yourself after you get out, too bad: According to public records obtained by the Salem Reporter, the Oregon Department of Corrections has banned…

Christine has had a rather long discussion going on over the last 2 days about pinging weblogs.com and how anyone can take that data and use it to list your blog pretty much anywhere, etc. (It’s all tied into people figuring out how they got listed in BlogShares without their knowledge and so on and…

  • Renamer

Thanks for all of the suggestions on renaming. Some of them were quite, umm, interesting, given what I thought was a relatively simply operation, but hey, what did I expect asking a bunch of geeks? 🙂 I’ve settled on a program called Bulk Rename Utility, mostly because when I looked at the screenshot, I could…
